An inflatable sandbag to be used in the event of flash floods, heavy rain falls etc. as a first line of defence to protect homes and business. E.F.D - Emergency Flood Defence
Submerge the emergency inflatable sandbag in water for 5-6 minutes; it speeds up the process if they are moved back and forth as this ensures quick and even inflation. Use your bath or large sink to ensure that the bags are completely covered. The bags can be inflated exactly where you need them by filling up a wheelbarrow or water trough to submerge the bags, this will save you having to carry them through the premises. You could use a garden hose to aim directly at them, but this does slow the inflation process down. Though not ideal, if the flood has already started to encroach on your premises you can put them straight down to the ground to begin soaking up the water immediately, this will give you a bit of time to inflate others in the correct manner. Have a practice run to see what suits your circumstances best, remember they are re-usable! Once inflated stack the emergency inflatable sandbags as you would a standard sandbag. The bags are designed to protect up to a depth of 2 feet (60/70cm). OUR SANDBAGS ARE REUSABLE and when dried naturally, return to their original shape and size. Unlike the traditional sandbag storage or collection is not an issue. |
